1. Your setup
Family members can share one plan type — carriers bill per line. Family & internet-bundle discounts are baked into every total below.
Bought outright / BYOD. Swisscom device promos (−CHF 250/300 with top-tier abo) are baked in; Sunrise Smart Upgrade −25% is a toggle in section 3.
Sets all lines at once — fine-tune each line below. As a guide: damaged older iPhone ≈ CHF 30 (verkaufen.ch “Damaged”); good condition ≈ CHF 60–85; recent models several hundred. Set to 0 for no trade-in.
Total = (plan × lines × months) + (new phones × price) − trade-ins.
2. Per-line phones & trade-ins
3. Remaining options
Bundle, family and Swisscom phone promos are always applied below — they're standing offers, not limited-time deals. Only genuinely conditional or worst-case items stay toggleable.
Youth rates are per line — tick “Holder is under 28” on the relevant line(s) in section 2. Swisscom Young Benefit (under 28) and Sunrise Young (strictly under 27) halve that line and can't stack with bundle/family. Salt Young rows are already youth-priced (under 30), so the checkbox doesn't change them.

Plan details, international data & phone locking
🌍 International data — what to know
- Switzerland is not in the EU. “EU roaming included” is a paid extra here, unlike in the EU where it is mostly free. Always check the EU/UK allowance.
- Swisscom blue: S = CH only (no EU data included, DayPasses extra). M = generous EU/UK allowance (sources report 40 GB up to unlimited — check the factsheet). L = largest allowance incl. USA. Best rural/mountain coverage.
- Sunrise: “Swiss Connect” (~CHF 44.90) includes EU roaming with fair-use cap; Lite versions have no EU data. Sunrise has the largest 5G footprint in cities.
- Salt: cheapest promos, but EU allowance is small (Swiss Max ≈ 1 GB, Swiss XXL ≈ 4 GB). After that a Data DayPass at CHF 4.95/day auto-activates — convenient but adds up on long trips.
- Budget brands: usually 0–3 GB EU included (Wingo, yallo, Digital Republic, Galaxus, M-Budget) — enough for maps/WhatsApp on weekend trips; buy a DayPass or eSIM (Airalo etc.) for longer stays. Exceptions: spusu (20 GB EU) and swype (41-country roaming).
- Calls/SMS from Switzerland to abroad are usually billed separately on all plans unless minutes are listed.
🧑🎓 Youth discounts (under 28 / under 27)
- Swisscom “Young Benefit” (under 28, since Aug 2026): −50% on blue S/M/L/XL for the young holder's line, plus CHF 50 cashback on a new smartphone (both applied automatically when you tick “under 28” on a Swisscom line with a phone). Ends on the 28th birthday; not combinable with Combi or “We are Family!”.
- Sunrise “Young” (strictly under 27): −50% — e.g. Europe+ Young CHF 40.70 vs 81.40. A 27-year-old gets the Swisscom youth rate but not Sunrise Young; the model applies Sunrise youth to any ticked line, so untick it for a 27-year-old on Sunrise.
- Salt Young (Swiss Young 49.95, Europe XXL Young 79.95, under 30) is modelled as separate rows — already youth-priced, so the checkbox doesn't touch them. Verified Sept 2026: Salt's own site lists no Young lineup (old Young URLs are dead) — these prices come from comparison sites, so confirm in a Salt store. Note they can cost more than adult online promos (Swiss Max 22.95): youth ≠ automatically cheaper at Salt.
👨👩👧 Family & bundle conditions
- Swisscom “We are Family!”: −50% on lines 2–5 in the same household (same address / “My Household”), combinable with the CHF 20 Combi Discount on line 1. Catch: discounted lines become app/website-only support (no shop/hotline) and their minimum term extends 24 months.
- Sunrise: −50% on extra lines (Family/Multi Mobile) and −50% on line 1 with home internet (Home Benefit); both can apply at once in the model.
- Salt, Wingo, yallo, swype, Galaxus, spusu, Digital Republic, M-Budget: no automatic family or internet-bundle discounts — what you see is what you pay on every line.
📱 Carrier phone promos (Sept 2026, applied automatically)
- Swisscom: −CHF 250 (iPhone 17) / −CHF 300 (17 Pro) per new phone with blue M/L (last seen to 31.07.2026; 24-mo term). Needs a top-tier abo — an L plan + discounted phone can beat an S plan + full-price phone. Verify the current promo; if yours differs, use “Custom price”.
- Sunrise Smart Upgrade: −25% off the iPhone (toggle in section 3 — off by default). Only a saving if you return the phone and renew after 24 months; keep it and the 25% falls due as a balloon payment. Returned phones graded “Good” (scratches/dents OK, no cracks, battery >80%) waive the balance in full; damaged/broken ones are partly/fully charged.
- Sunrise Flex Premium Bundle (extra −50% on Neighbors/Europe+/Global abo + Flex Upgrade fee from CHF 7.50/mo with insurance/iCloud) is not in the table — it needs a higher-tier plan than base Connect and the fee eats part of the saving. Europe+ row + Smart Upgrade toggle approximates it before the fee.
- Salt: no device discount. Observed Sept 2026 (salt.ch, 0 down, 24 mo, iPhone 17 256 GB): CHF 66.24/mo with Swiss Max, 69.24 XXL, 73.24 Travel, 75.24 Travel Plus, 78.24 Europe Max, 80.24 Europe XL — i.e. about full Apple price on instalment + plan. With Salt, buy the iPhone at Apple and take the SIM-only lifetime promo instead.
- Budget brands are SIM-only: always pair them with an outright iPhone.
🔓 Phone locking (SIM lock)
- Phones sold in Switzerland are unlocked — including iPhones from Apple, Swisscom, Sunrise, Salt, Digitec and Mobilezone. There is no carrier SIM lock to worry about.
- You can buy the iPhone outright from Apple and use it on any Swiss plan (BYOD), or take a carrier instalment — the phone stays unlocked either way.
- Carrier instalment = a loan tied to staying (early exit = pay remaining device balance). SIM-only budget plans + outright iPhone is usually cheapest and keeps you flexible.
- All iPhone 17 models support dual SIM (nano-SIM + eSIM, multiple eSIMs) — handy for a Swiss + travel eSIM combo.
♻️ Trade-in notes
- Every line with “Trade in old phone” ticked subtracts its own value — e.g. a cracked XR at CHF 30 on one line and a good-condition iPhone 13 at CHF 200 on another. The field above sets all lines at once.
- As a guide (Sept 2026): slightly damaged older iPhone ≈ CHF 30 (verkaufen.ch/Recommerce “Damaged”; cracked XR in the US ≈ $23); good condition ≈ CHF 60–85; recent models in good shape several hundred francs.
- Carrier “Buyback” quotes are confirmed after inspection — cracked screen/back lowers the quote. Private sale (Tutti, Ricardo) pays a bit more but takes effort.
⚠️ Assumptions & fine print
- Prices checked Sept 2026: iPhone 17 256 GB CHF 799 / 17 Pro 256 GB CHF 1,099 (Apple CH); plans are standard list or currently-advertised lifetime promos — promos change often, verify before signing.
- Salt/Wingo/yallo promo prices shown are “lifetime discount” online-only offers; list prices are 2–3× higher. Sunrise raised most plans +CHF 1.50 (Aug 2026), Swisscom +CHF 1.90 (Apr 2026), Salt +CHF 1–2 (Jun 2026).
- Bundle, family and Swisscom phone promos are baked in, not toggles — they're standing offers (Swisscom Combi −CHF 20 on line 1 with blue Internet; “We are Family!” −50% on lines 2–5; Sunrise −50% first line with internet / −50% extra lines). No home internet? Add CHF 20/mo back on Swisscom line 1, or double Sunrise line 1. Youth rates never stack with them. Mixed households (one youth + three adults): youth lines are priced standalone, family −50% applies to the non-youth extra lines.
- Activation fees (usually CHF 0 online, up to ~CHF 59.95 in store) are a toggle — off means online signup. Paper-bill fees excluded. Speeds are “up to” and throttled after fair-use on some unlimited plans.
